windows media encoder question

  1. pentium 4
    3.6 ghz
    2 gigs of ram w/ 256mb video card
    windows xp media center edition

    Can I encode something off a live tv feed? If so, supply instructions.

    Use the Capture option in Windows Movie Maker. Export it, but beware: ten
    minutes of video took almost a half hour to export at "High Quality Video
    (Large)" I know of no way to conveert out of WMV format. VirtualDub used
    to be able to, but the feature was removd to avoid legal problems.
