Why you need white-box laptops

  1. There are some good-looking desktop cases around. And the nice thing is, you
    can keep using them for years: when the guts become obsolete, simply
    replace them.

    Then there are the laptops

    look good. But what happens in a few years, when the CPU, video etc start
    to look old and creaky? Will you be able to replace them and keep that
    fancy case? Don't think so. You'll have to throw the whole thing out and
    get a new one.
