What should my DVD-Burner Replace?

    I currently have a CD-R 40x24x40 and a DVD-ROM drive. I am buying a
Plextor 708A DVD Burner, which, also, seems to have the same speed
specs as my existing CD-R. So, which drive do I replace? It seems
replacing the CD-R will have little affect and if I keep my DVD-ROM, I
can copy "non-copyrighted" DVD's on the fly. Does this sound logical
or should I replace the DVD-ROM instead. Any thoughts will be
    appreciated....
