i'm on the internet just doing something (not porn) and i get a message
from avast antivirus resident scanner saying that the files are
infected with Win32:Tanga or Tenga whater that is: c:\dell\ATAPI.exe,
c:\dell\UWAKEOFF.exe, c:\dell\UWAKEON.exe. It is always those files
that get infectted. i click repair and it works.

it appears to do this everytime i connect to the internet (it's only
    happened twice though).

i haven't downloaded much except winrar

It is your school getting revenge for trying to hack into their computers.

    I bet.

Seriously though, it sounds like Avast is giving a false positive.
Both of those files are Dell system files used to enable USB devices to
bring your computer out of standby mode.

If you are concerned, try one of the online virus scanners like
    Housecalls from Trend Micro.
