Now that Warner has started re-issuing a lot of their
previous "bare-bones" DVD releases as 2-disc Special Editions
(The Right Stuff, Robin Hood: Prince Of Thieves, True Romance,
    A Christmas Story...)

Any word yet on when we'll see a GoodFellas 2-Disc SE?

I never bought the first DVD because it was a flipper,
but I think I read on The Digital Bits where it was scheduled
    for sometime in 2004.

Can anyone shed any light on this?

And while we're on this subject, what about a Batman SE?

    Thanks for any info.

How about The Wild Bunch? Has it been re-issued yet?

The original one I could only wish, the supposed remaster
with all the cool voice overs by Harrison taken out really
    bit the big one.

    drc :)

I do think Burton has either recorded, or been asked to record,
a commentary track for a potential SE. So, something is in the
    works.

With comic book movies being so popular right now, WB is trying
(without much success) to get one of their properties on the big
screen. I'm guessing that you'll see these Batman SEs around the
time that a new Batman movie comes out. Otherwise, it'd be a missed
    merchandising opportunity.

No it didn't. The editing only needed some tightening. Removal
of voice overs left the pacing too loose.

I keep hearing about a truly special edition with all the versions and bells
and whistles coming out. However, my Blade Runner fanatic friend tells me
it's hung up on legal issues (f**king lawyers again!).

How about "His Majesty O'Keefe" with the Tiomkin score (US release) on one
side and Farnon score (European release) on the other!

I wish they'd give us both versions and some separate deleted scenes (e.g.: the
    hospital, dancers in hockey masks)

"sushi-that's what my wife called me".
