VSS Writers error

Discussion in 'Windows 64bit' started by David Orazine, Mar 31, 2008.

  1. Hello,

I have a Server 2003 (64-bit) machine that is running backup exec 11d. When
I try to backup elements that are not the file system in I receive this error:

V-79-57344-34110 - AOFO: Initialization failure on:
"Shadow?Copy?Components". Advanced Open File Option used: Microsoft Volume
    Shadow Copy Service (VSS).

VSS Snapshot error. Microsoft Volume Shadow Copy Service (VSS) cannot
communicate with the writers. Check that the Volume Shadow Copy Service is
started, and check the Windows Event Viewer for errors related to this
    service.

Dose anyone know how to fix this issue?

    Thank you,
    David
