vpn 3030 lan-to-lan trouble

Discussion in 'Cisco' started by Oliver Schumacher, Jan 17, 2005.

  1. Hi,
we have currently trouble configuring a lan-to-lan-vpn with two Cisco
VPN3030-boxes. When trying to set up the link to the remote-box we get
the following entry in our logfiles:

    188 01/17/2005 19:28:38.620 SEV=4 IKE/0 RPT=40 a.b.c.d
    Group [a.b.c.d]
received an unencrypted packet when crypto active!! Dropping packet.

where a.b.c.d is the address of the remote vpn concentrator.

Does anyone know how to resolve this problem?

    Thanks in advance,
    Oliver

  2. This can be an indication of a preshared key mismatch. Check that
first, if you are indeed using preshared keys.

    HTH.

  3. Cool. Great hint. It works.
At least I have learned to double-check passwords. ;-)

    Thanks,
    Oliver
