Hi, A friend got infected by four viruses, she used Stinger to remove them,
but didn't note what they were called. The problem caused by the viruses is
still there, her dial up connection disconnects after approx three minutes.
Does anyone know what they were likely to be, and what can she do to fix the
    problem.

    Thanks, Ant.

A quick Google gave this as the first hit.
    http://vil.nai.com/vil/stinger/

It lists what Stinger removes. Maybe you can figure it out from there
via their 'Virus Information Library'. And/or ask over at
alt.comp.anti-virus. Could it be the new Sasser worm?

She may have gotten reinfected if she did not turn on the connection
firewall. Gotta have a firewall and all windows updates up to date.
