    Hi,

Saved some home movies on DVDs. Now want to save them on computer. Ripped
the discs in vob files and ready to encode them but the files all turned out
funny. Plays ok for a few seconds then plays as if the video is in fast
forward mode then stops and plays normally afterwards. The time stamp on the
player is screwed up as well so that if I want to edit the movies, for
example, I cut a scene at 5 min into it but the software edits 20 mins into
    it.

Can someone please explain this phenomenon in DVD ripping?

    Thanks,
    Dug
