USB 2.0 External HDD Not Always Seen by Win XP SP-2

Discussion in 'Computer Support' started by Sens Fan Happy In Ohio, Jun 9, 2005.

  1. Pretty much that says it all. I have an external HDD (30GB) plugged into my
USB 2.0 card (4 USB ports) and I leave it in there at all times as a backup
device. Sometimes Windows Explorer sees it ... sometimes it does not. The
card is by Belkin and is only a year old. I never had issues with it on my
previous installs of Win XP. But now I am. I installed all the Belkin
provided software and other things on the card (printer, control pad for
games, webcam, USB card reader) work.

    Any ideas? Thanks!
