upgrading trial version to retail question

Discussion in 'Windows 64bit' started by =?Utf-8?B?cmFsdGVy?=, Jun 27, 2005.

  1. If I've installed the x64 trial and gotten it set up the way i like it, is
there a way to turn my trial into the full version once my tech advancement
disc has arrived without clean installing?

  2. Yes, you can do an upgrade from the TAP disc you will receive without having
to wipe your existing installation and settings. You cannot upgrade from the
Trial to the OEM version of XP Pro x64, you have to do a repair.

  4. If everything is working perfectly in Trial, I can't see why it would be
different continuing on that same path with the full version.

  5. Hello Andre,
How is he going to upgrade?
I probably haven't been clear in what I was posting when I replied about
    upgrade not being available.
From what I have been told there isn't retail media, so the TAP program
will be sending out OEM media, which only will upgrade other OEM media. It
does not upgrade EVAL media. Repair may be an option.
    Thanks,
    Darrell Gorter[MSFT]

  6. I very much wish I could get my hands on a copy of the TAP media so that I
