I made what i now realise was a mistake in upgrading to Windows Live
    messenger from MSN messenger 7.5.
Now none of my messengers will restore or maximise - they just sit in
the systray or taskbar. The right-click context menu will open, but that
is all. I don't get any errors, just no response. Windows Live Messenger
will allow me to right-click and select 'send instant message', and it
opens my buddy-list, but it wont allow me into the main window to manage
my buddy-list or change any settings.
I have uninstalled them all, reinstalled, used olderversion.com to
replace my original installation, and have currently had to give up and
use GAIM (which isn't bad but has no webcam features).
    I use xp pro sp2.

    Any thoughts?
