    Is there a difference between a Seagate Barracuda V 120GB ATA100 7200rpm
    2MB cache hdd and a Seagate Barracuda 7200.7 120GB ATA100 7200rpm 2MB
cache? Different model or just a name change?

I was actually wanting to know this as well. I'm looking to get the same
hard disk but with an 8MB cache instead, and noted that it was actually
    called the Barracuda 7200.7 Plus.

The V is the older model and has the acoustic sound reduction option but the
7200.7 does not, due to patent infringements..

    New model, I think. V (5) ... 7

Not much difference, maybe slightly noisier, no metal "seashield" on the
    bottom...
