You need a screen saver because....

  1. (1) Bugs will get past a broken screen.....

    96.9%
  2. (2) The same image will burn the screen eventually.

Well ladies and gentlemen, it's time to collect pictures so Bigal can create a 2005 Velocity Reviews screen saver. Please post or provide links to your favorite computer, computer mod, or computer related pictures in this topic. We'll collect the pictures up to and including Halloween night, which is October 31st in the US. Please keep the picture size under 300kB, or I'll just reduce it in size using MSPaint. You can post as many pictures as you like, up to a maximum of 20 per person. We want everyone to post some picture of their computer, if possible. This type of screen saver works best with at least 40 pictures, but going over 80 pictures makes the file size too big.
Once I create the screen saver file, you'll just need to download it and copy it to your Windows\system32 folder. Then you can select it from the screen saver tab in Display Properties.
So start posting / submitting / linking your computer pictures. Get your system noticed by your peers. It's fun, it's cool, and it's something you need to do!!!
As an example, here is my submittal:

    first photo is crap.
    second photo is good.
    third photo is aight.
    fourth photo is aight.
Why don't you get some photos of something other than the mobo? Maybe the case? You've got four photos of the same thing, and the only difference between them is the lighting.

Gotta agree with X there, where are the pics of the actual mod? The case? Ya know, the whole thing? I get kinda bored of looking at "guts" all the time. Ya seen one mobo you've seen 'em all. Lets see yer artistic skills.

Aw come on, not modding the case? What a copout! You HAVE to mod the case, that's what modding IS, if yer not "modding" the case then it's not a mod, it's just parts in a factory default box. Anyone can do that. You don't get to call yourself a modder if you're not modding it. Now get that dremel out and start working.

Just get his dremel out and get cutting? Hehe, I'd like to see the results of that, I can see it now: He forgets to turn it off, cuts through the side panel and hits the PSU :p "Next time, on 'How NOT to mod' a case, we see the results of Unholy's careless cutting!"

Uh, do you normally cut yer panels while they're on the case X? I mean, just curious here. Most people take the panels off before cutting but maybe you don't. <shrug>

I've never bothered modding a case before. I know you wouldn't cut with it still on, but it seems like the kind of thing that a computer illiterate person, or a really stupid person, would do.

Yes, as you said, it does sound like something Unholy would do. :)
So you've never done any modding? For shame, you must! It's important, you can't be considered "one of us" until you do. And that means you have to give back that MPC visor.

Oops, missed the posts in the prev. page.
What modding? I dunno man, I'd have to see the case to give you some suggestions so I'll wait till you post some and throw out some ideas.

I would mod my case, but for a few small issues...
    1) Not much time on my hands.
    2) I'm not artistic/talented in any way whatsoever.
    3) I have no Dremel or anything, just basic tools.
    4) I'm too lazy.
If you can get all of those problems fixed up, then I'll gladly get some modding done.
