I'm trying to create a new message filter in Thunderbird 1.5.0.5. The
message filter is to delete the message from the POP server if over a
    certain size.

Tools > Message Filters > New. I set it for 'size' 'is greater than'
and the next step is where I'm stumped. Is the size supposed indicate
    bytes, Kb, or Mb?

Thanks in advance for your reply.

Go into the search messages feature and test out some numbers.
It looks to me like it's using Kb.
