    Is it possible to be able to monitor the temp of the cpu on a
    'AMDK6/2...500MHZ.

    Yes, if the motherboard has a sensor for such

    you might be able to check the temperature in the bios

    otherwise there are a number of utilites avail...

    one would be: SpeedFan
