Switch Clustering Query

Discussion in 'Cisco' started by Johnny Noitargim, Oct 11, 2004.

  1. Hi everyone,

I have just inherited part of a LAN which consists of 3 3548s half stacked
together and half chained... I am going to put a 3550G aggregator in place
to stack all other switches properly only thing that worries me is that the
3 existing switches are already clustered.

Ideally I would like the new switch (3550G) to be the commander and maybe
another one will be the backup commander. My main worry is: will I lose any
configuration if I break the cluster and introduce another commander? (how
do I do it? I went through the tac but all clustering searches point me to
the graphical interface which I do not want to use...)

Many thanks in advance for all your help,

    Johhny
