Well sports fans, just for shits and giggles I just did a little comparison
test between the Canon Super 70-200 f/2.8L (and the Vivitar 2x TC) and the
    cheapo Phoenix/Samyang 500mm mirror lens.

As you might expect, the Canon trounced it in picture quality, even with the 2x
    TC attached.

    See for yourself:

If you choose the "original" setting at the bottom you can see a full-sized
    version of each pic.

Well, DUHH! That's like compareing the excellent Canon to a 50-500mm "Super"
    Smegma.

    Wow. I'm shocked.

How about a comparison between the Canon 300 2.8L and my old Lentar 400 5.6
pre-set lens? I'd be glad to ship it down. Of course, you can make your own
with a couple of Coke bottles.

And you used what to get to 500mm? Last I checked, 200 x 2 =
400...........get back to us after you plug up that other 1.25 TC.

Shoot'em up, compare less, Agfa, Fuji, Kodak and all the rest will love you
    for it!!

It's pretty obvious that the difference in resolution and contrast is a
lot more than can be accounted for by an additional 1.25x.

So THAT'S why the car is bigger in the 500mm image! Thanks for clearing that
    up.

Possibly true, depending on how "cheapo" that additional 1.25x is.......
Pointing out the differing cost factor for the cheapo Phoenix ($109) and
    Super 70-200 2.8L ($1,100 + Vivitar 2x $49 + cheapo 1.25x $?), for expletive
and grins, might have made showing a photo comparison unnecessary - or just
an added comment like "wow, for 10+ times less money I can get 1.25x closer
and still read the license plate."

Shoot'em up, cheap, expensive, Agfa, Fuji, Kodak and all the rest will love
    you for it!!
