  1. Hi

I took exam 720-271 last week and past just. I was very dissapointed with my
score to be honest I got 716. I used the Transcender CD for that. Is the
Review suite better. Now Im studying for 720-272. I would be gratefull for
any advice as I want to do much better on this exam. Anyone got any tips.

    Thanks Bazx

    Hi Barry,

I have not yet heard of anyone failing this particular exam if they used the
MIcrosoft Press Self-Paced Training book. It is very comprehensive and
covers the material quite well. It includes the Readiness Review Suite
software which is a great testing measure stick.

    Good luck!

I've been concerned about the readiness review suite, I'll score lowly on
questions I've never seen before but when they come round again I do well. I
was worried that the appropriate info wasn't sinking in and that I was
learning parrot fashion. My remote tutor tells me this is normal, that I
can't memorise all those answers and that what is going on is that the info
is going in just that it's not yet indexed properly and that in the 2 day
classroom enviroment they will build on this. I'm going to wait a bit longer
before going for the exam I think so that I can be really sure that I know
the subject. Can anyone else relate to this, I haven't had the classroom
experience before the exam yet to see what will change between now and the
    exam.

  4. As the old saying goes, "What do you call a person who graduates last in
medical school? A doctor..." People score and take tests differently.
That is just life. Do not beat yourself up or second guess yourself
because of your last score. You passed! Do not let your scores dictate
what kind of technician you are. 75% of the time we all use Google
anyway! Microsoft exams are designed to be a little tough. To be honest,
all my practice exams always seemed to be harder than the actual exams
were. I am wondering now if I ever passed a practice exam! I have used
MeasureUP, Transcender, MS Readiness, etc. The two things that work for
me when studying of a Microsoft exam is 1.) TechNet and whitepapers on
the Internet 2.) MS Press books. One of the things you have to learn if
you continue to test out on Microsoft exams is this: Do not answer the
question your way. Answer the Microsoft way. Know that there is more
than one way to access any feature in Windows. 9 out of 10 times it is
thru the Control Panel. You may say well I do it like this. And with
that, the test may mark you incorrect. Another piece of advice is not to
over think... Read what they are asking you and answer it with the "best
possible solution". Using those to skills (and of course the product you
are testing out on) have allowed me to sit and pass numerous exams. Post
back and let us know how you did.

I studied only using the 2 Microsoft Press release books and did over and
over the Practice exams that came with the Books and I passed fine.

    Good luck.
