Strange behavior of sorting bookmarks in Firefox/Windows.

Discussion in 'Firefox' started by schrodinger's cat, Mar 29, 2006.

  1. When I right-click on a bookmark in a folder under the Bookmarks menu of
Firefox and select "Sort by Name", my topmost bookmark folder in the
main menu disappears. Every subsequent time I do this in the same
Firefox session, a separator line is added to the menu under "Manage
Bookmarks...". For instance, if I sort 3 folders, I end up with a
Bookmarks menu that is missing the first folder, and has 3 separator
bars. When I close and restart Firefox everything is back to normal.
Oddly, this only happens in Windows, not in Linux (the 2 OS's share the
bookmark file). Is this behavior known? If so, is there a fix? Thanks.
