I have an HP 2133 Mininote, which has always performed well (if somewhat slowly!). Sometime ago out of curiosity I installed the evaluation version of Windows 7 and it behaved perfectly. I have now decided to restore the WnXP
Home Edition which I used previously. The installation proceeded normally until I received the STOP 0x000000A5 error message stating that the bios was not fully ACPI compliant and that I should obtain an update ( which I have done) and install it, which I cannot. Win XP was not fully installed and all attempts to do this again by a variety of methods fail at the STOP message.

Thus I have a machine with no operating system on which I cannot update the Bios to allow a proper installation to be carried out. This is extremely frustrating, and any advice would be most gratefully received.
