Since installing XP Sp2 on a toshiba TE2000 laptop the toshiba power saver's
standby and hibernate functions do not work.

if i uninstall the toshiba utils TPS ver5.1 the standby and hibernate
functions under the windows screen saver options (monitor power/power
    options) they both work fine.

any assistance offer would be greatly appreciated.

    thanks

Sometimes there is a conflict between the bios and windows power saving.

Check the documentation for the utilities and make sure they are designed to
    be used on XP.
From your description, it sounds like they are not compatible.
