Are you complaining at only getting 300 kbytes/sec from a
    3Mbits/sec line?

    300 K-what?

    Careful with your units.

    Or Around There.

    300 Mbits/sec and 300MB/sec are 2 different things.

(their full names are MegaBits, and MegaBytes.)

    1 MegaBit (Mbit) = 128 Kilobytes (KB).

Also, how fast you can download on a DSL line also can depend on how far you
are away from the nearest data centre. Quote me if i'm wrong guys, but i
beleive optimal range is 1-2 KM.

AND YOU WILL ALMOST NEVER SEE THE FULL 3 MBITS UNLESS YOU HAVE YOUR INTENET
    CONNECTION INSIDE THIER DATA CENTRE!

    For example:

i have a 3Mbit DSL Connection with Bell Sympatico, have a bandwidth feed of
roughly 2.4 Mbits, and download at somewhere around 325 KB/sec (for those of
you who have dialup, excuse me for bragging, couldn't help it lol). so what
you have now is pretty normal.

Please do not post binairies in a non binary group. Apart from pissing
people off, it constitutes abuse and could cost you your account.
