I have run just about every program out there to get rid of spam, I have
even cleaned out the computer in safe mode and it still keeps on coming back
every time I get on the I.E. my comp starts to download approximately 6170
files to my temporary folder and I do not know just what to look for. Please
help if you have any suggestions to fix this ,I am fairly new at this kind
of thing. Also how do I get rid of spam in History- Today folder it will not
let me delete anything out of it.
Another question is how do I get rid of hsperfdata I think this is part of
the problem. Thanks in advance for your help.

You're using the wrong term in your searches- Spam is unsolicited junk
email. Are you talking about popup advertising when you launch IE? If
so, you may have adware/spyware installed on your system. Two good
(free) tools to help remove this sort of thing:

    AdAware: http://www.lavasoftusa.com/support/download/

    Microsoft Antispyware:
    http://www.microsoft.com/athome/security/spyware/software/default.mspx

    Regards,

Ian the spam as I call it is all porn and I don't know how to get rid of it
permanently. There is something installed on my comp and it reinstalls
itself everytime I delete it. Thanks for the reply

Install, update and run the two tools I recommended. Microsoft
Antispyware received a better rating than AdAware in a recent PCWorld
test, so start with that one if you like.

    Microsoft Antispyware:
