I am not sure what is happening on Xtra spam watch. I understood that a new
firewall type of prg would be set up in Nov. Now I am receiving SPAM labelled
SPAM. Is this just to indicate or is it to delete? I usually put spam in the
killfile of the email prg "Agent". I've asked the hell desk but they seem to be
    all asleep.

Apparently they're tagging spam with the "SPAM" header now instead of just
deleting them, so that you can verify that it is actually spam before you
    delete it.

So you still get the spam anyway ? Just with a different header/subject ?

I can't think of a better way for them to implement it. It makes it easy
for the user to set their own rules up and deal with it how they like.
Imagine the shit storm that would erupt if Xtra deleted important false
    positives.

    Exactly.

Interesting topic this is, Spam. People want the ISP to take steps to
*censor* it. Yet they would howl like a pack of wolves should the ISP
censor something they wished to see.

Now, we can not have it both ways. I say let the ISP addvalue by altering
the header then we can deal with it as we see fit.

Having some spam is the cost of not having a false positive deleted.

If you go to the Xtra site you get to choose what to do with this. Just
choose to have them nuke it -- you'll never see it again. I've had a
peaceful couple of days thanks to that!

Or choose the middle way -
Set it up via webmail to automatically route the spam to your (webmail) SPAM
    folder.
This you do NOT download - you can check / delete its contents
    periodically - again via webmail.
    Excellent "utility" I reckon.

I have gone onto their webmail access where you can set up what you want
to do with it, mine goes into a separate folder on their server and is
not downloaded to my machine at all, I can then go in once a week and
check. Gone are the days of up to 20 spams a day...HOORAY !

You can use Xtramail to report that a message is spam. I tried it on the
weekly message that they send out from Max Whatsis every week.
