SP2 installation & O.E. changes?

My friend uses Outlook Express (despite my advice to the contrary!) to
    send and receive emails.

In the past when she receives some regular computer tips daily, she
has put these in a special folder within OE apparently intending to
    read them at her leisure.

Since installing SP2 and Mozilla around about the same time, she
cannot access her emails in the O.E. folder (they've disappeared!).

Personally, I cannot see this as having anything to do with Firefox
but tend to think it's SP2.

Would appreciate comments and any thoughts on how to continue this
practice without emails being deleted from the folder in OE without
    manual intervention.

    Thanks, (Ruth)

Updating Outlook Express has an unfortunate side
effect of often completely replacing all data. You
    should look in:

    Documents and Settings\<user>\Local Settings\Application Data\
    Identities\{GUID}\Microsoft\Outlook Express

for any previously used .dbx files, and import them
    back into OE.

Thank you very much for the help, I have passed it all on!
