Sony notebook power adaptors

We need a second adaptor for a VAIO notebook. Sony in Wellington say
they do not stock them. There are various overseas suppliers, but
while some happily have an illustration of a Sony branded adaptor, I
get the feeling they are manufactured by others. One firm lists
'Factory' $US49.22 and 'compatible' $19.94. Does anyone know the
situation? I prefer a genuine Sony one so we do not imperil the
    warranty.
