sony memory stick pro card usb 2.0 reader....

  1. is $60, whereas competitors (eg Sandisk) is $20. What am I missing here? Is
    there extra functionality, or am I just paying for the name?

    The SanDisk reader should be fine. The "big names" tend to charge a
    small fortune. The price of a FujiFilm or Olympus branded xD card
    reader. They're typically $40 or more when a similar aftermarket
    version is under $30.
