I hear theres going to be an announcement this afternoon by the chch mayor,
of a network, capable of delivering speeds up to (wait for it...)
1000 times faster than whats available now
    (Yes one thousand times faster)

*Shirly* they mean 1000x faster than dial up though?

    it was tough love, but…

    your ding-dong.

A nice generic "network", just what our city needs.

It's not that one that they've been laying fibre for down Memorial is
it? The one with the idiot contractors who've drilled several holes in
our lawn, run a digger over it, and cracked our sewer pipe (and then
    just covered it up!).

Well, you can get 1Gb/s connections from Citylink and TelstraClear (yes
in Christchurch, if you Reeeeaaalllyyyy wanted to pay a lot) at least so
it must be a 1Tb/s Network ! wow they must have some smart developers
down there to out do every other manufacturer in the world !

Could well be. I cant find the announcement. I have just relayed what was on
the radio (1000 times is enough to wake me up)

You cant get Citylink in chch so is not necessarily "available now".
    TelstraClear though, yes. :)
