Snopes.com seems to think that one page of advertising isn't enough.
When ever you go there, you maybe get one, somestime two other pages of
    advertising to load.

What's even worse is, some sites I've been to lately insist on adding on
ads on top of their site you can't click close no how no way.
When you click on them, you get another page you want nothing to do with.

I just went there. No popup warnings, no ads.

Must have been something from a history cached file.
Cleaned out the temp files, tried it again and this time no other pages
    showed up.

And yes asshole roger, I know how to scan for malware spyware and trojans.
I have comodo and it didn't report anything.
    I also run malwarebytes frequently.
I also keep my history to the bare minimum for that reason.

Well, I did get popup warnings, a few ads and some cookies after
I disabled Ad-Block Plus. However, why would I disable that?

    In practice they are not.

Perhaps something deliberate, so they can whinge about it. I wouldn't put it
    past either of them.

They should get a room somewhere.

    Good question. I didn't - and won't.

No idea. I've never seen the ads.
