Should There Be A “National Vision" For UFB?

Discussion in 'NZ Computing' started by Lawrence D'Oliveiro, Jan 18, 2011.

  1. Microsoft wants our Government to have a “vision†of how the upcoming
Ultrafast Broadband network will be used
    <http://computerworld.co.nz/news.nsf/news/microsoft-nz-cto-calls-for-a-national-vision-for-ufb>.

“A network itself doesn’t provide much benefit to a country, it is only
the services and content that are built on top of it.â€

Which is true as far as it goes, but I don’t think it should be up to the
Government to direct that “services and contentâ€. They haven’t done so so
far, why should they start now?
