    Hi,

We have 2 computers on our home network and my machine has a usb drive which
I have shared allowing all users to modify files. THer are some pictures
which my partner can view on her machine that are located on the usb drive
attached to my mahicne - however if she rotates a picture and tries to move
onto the next slide she gets the following message "you cannot rotate this
image. the file might be in use or open in another program, or the file or
    folder might be read only."

The files don't show as being read only so what's the prob anyone?

Thanks in advance for your help.

    Howard.

    Multiposting.
But then, you didn't tell which OS (assuming XP home) and filesystem (fat32
or ntfs?) you use on the usb drive.
It can either be a issue of "simple filesharing" without a password, or ntfs
    permissions. Or whatever else.
