SERIAL ATA vs IDE

Discussion in 'Computer Information' started by Josell Paredes, Aug 1, 2005.

  1. I am very confused, when a NEW hard drive says it is SATA, does that mean
that it will or won't connect to my IDE ribbon cable. Can someone PLEASE
    explain the difference!!!

    Thanks SO MUCH!!!!!

    Yes, that's what it means.

You can get adapters though. Do a Google search for "ide to sata".

You could also get one of these:
