    browser.search.defaultengine
    engine://F%3A%5C[Path]%5Csearchplugins%5Cdmoz.src Dmoz
    engine://F%3A%5C[Path]%5Csearchplugins%5Cjeeves.src Jeeves
    engine://F%3A%5C[Path]%5Csearchplugins%5Cgoogle.src Google
    engine://F%3A%5C[Path]%5Csearchplugins%5Cgooglenews.src NGoogle
    engine://F%3A%5C[Path]%5Csearchplugins%5Cwayback.src Wayback
    engine://F%3A%5C[Path]%5Csearchplugins%5Cyahoo.src Yahoo

unfortunately prefbar allows only 6 items in a list :-(
I'll probably trade-out wayback (use bookmakrlet instead), dmoz, and jeeves
    for google groups, ,,

    _____________
another about:config setting seems to be dead?
    browser.search.defaultenginename Google
[about:config keeps this name "Google" even after changing engine in moz preferences or via pref bar.]

    _________
if you want to create your own prefbar buttons, etc, this is an old reference to prefs:
    http://preferential.mozdev.org/preferences.html

    _____________

i still need to create a SRC for yahooNews... or find one on mycroft. (such as
    http://mycroft.mozdev.org/plugins/wayback.src)

I got a google group src working, but have to find it :)

Almost certainly more challenging is to 'steal' from GoogleBar, so i can have their clickable (and/or highlightable) search terms
    in toolbar.
Also, the GoogleBar mouse context click menu is useful (translate, etc commands). hmmm.. too difficlut to emulate...

since the newest prefbar (3.0..) ofers *same* commands in a pulldown menu. i can save the space otherwise wasted by the
prefbar toolbar, and install googlbar :)
