Screen Saver Anomaly in XP

Discussion in 'Computer Information' started by Stephen G. Giannoni, Oct 30, 2004.

  1. Years ago, I had developed a beautiful Screen Saver in Visual Basic
v6, based on Strange Attractors in Systems of Weak Chaos, and is still
available from my website at :

    http://www.homestead.com/giannoni/sa18.html

For reason(s) unknown, the SS will NOT function properly in Windows
XP, which understandably is a very serious drawback these days. It
runs just fine if evoked artificially, e.g.-from Display Properties or
just double clicking the file in Windows Explorer, but when activated
naturally as a screen saver, it starts as something minimized just
above the "Start" button and displays an error if this is subsequently
    clicked.

All's the great pity as the SS is very beautiful and interesting.

Somehow, Windows XP does something differently with Screen Savers.

Any insight, help, etc., would be greatly appreciated & thanks ! ....
