Lately, there has been an avalanche-like growth in the headset industry. This is in many ways a direct consequence of the increasing number of multiplayer games. In games like Counter-strike, for example, real-time communication is a vital detail, if you want to prevail. And what's more, the audio quality has improved dramatically lately and you can practically get equal quality from a pair of $40 headphones like the quality you would get from a $400 HIFI system. Of course, the LAN culture has contributed in some ways as well; speakers are not very practical to haul around to LANs, so headphones are the obvious choice for a LAN addict.

    I've been thinking...

...about a set of headphones with the microphone for use in Call of Duty 2. Do you think this is a good set for gaming? Or should I look for one with a better mounting for the microphone?

For microphone use, I'd strongly recommend something else because the mounting is just an annoyance. The mic works great, yet there is no good way to mount it. I love the headphones though, I really love them.

If it's the practicality side of the mounted mic you want, and sound quality is just an added extra, I have a pair of AVLabs Multimedia Headphones, was only $25AUD down 50%. They have pretty good sound quality, are comfortable and have a mounted mic, and are cheap for what you get. I was considering the Siberia Headset, until I realised it was an open-air headset, because sound quality is everything to me and open-air headsets never have it quite right.

Yet you give no name, model, brand, quality or any information about it at all. Who gives a crap about it then, if you won't say anything except that you like them?

Still missing a few points there, I'm not gonna bother googling model name to find the specs :p

You're the lazy one, why should I bother googling your headphone specs instead of you posting them? I at least said something about them, apart from the fact that "my new headset owns"
