Restore screen on Dell Inspiron 2200 laptop running Windows XP Pro

  1. Please help. Scenario: the computer described above functions normally, if
I close lid on laptop while computer up and running, then when I re-open lid,
screen is black. However, computer is running in background, only way I can
recover screen is to shutdown computer by pressing manual power off button,
Windows then says "Good-by" after a few seconds, then I restart computer
manually. If I go to "power options properties, advanced tab" under the
option "when I close the lid" the only option I am given is "Do nothing".
What I want is ability to close lid and reopen and use the computer without
having to restart it manually. Any ideas??
