removing items from startup menu

Discussion in 'Computer Support' started by Charlie Bress, Nov 10, 2004.

  1. I am using 98SE.
When I go to msconfig >startup it is easy enough to uncheck boxes, but is
there a way to permanently remove the item from the menu. That is I don't
even want it on the list. Every so often in seems that a box gets rechecked,
but it is an application that I never want to start by itself, only when I
    invoke it on purpose.

Try Mike Lin's Start up control panel

    http://www.mlin.net/StartupCPL.shtml

You can untick then delete when satisfied etc.

    Cheers
