Remote Access Problems

Discussion in 'Windows 64bit' started by Know just enough to be dangerous:), Feb 6, 2008.

  1. I have XP Pro on my PC at home. I am using a Linksys Router WRT54G for
wireless access with a laptop I bring home from work. I can remote from the
laptop into my work server with no problem so I believe my router is
configured just fine, but for some reason I can NOT remote into my PC in the
other room at home. I have set up Remote access to accept outside access,
blah, blah....I have Service Pack 2 installed.

Anyone have any ideas.....Linksys just said they couldn't help with the
remote access end of things. HELP

  2. You're really not in the right newsgroup - this newsgroup is for discussions
around issues specific to 64bit Windows. But that being said, the two most
common issues are TCP/IP issues, most likely DNS in this case, or a firewall
    issue blocking the access.
