At one time I used to be able to run the cursor over
WORD files in "Explorer" and a precis of the
    contents would appear.

This was achieved by right clicking on a Word file,
going to Properties, then Summary into which a
brief precis of the contents was typed.

I am now running OFFICE XP, and I don't know
how to bring about the show of contents as in
    the first paragraph.

Anyone able to - very simply - advise please?

    Your version of Windows?

Do you show a "Simple" or "Advanced" button at the bottom-right of the
    Summary tab?
