Giday all just wondering if someone could point me in the right place to
find about reading headers did a google but at a quick look didnt help
much on this one. The reason is that I have been getting one of the fake
microsoft patch emails and I want to know if it is comeing from
<> so I can let him know or some where else. The
adress that I recived it in has till now been spam free.

No, the headers are forged by the worm, and are incomplete.

    Install Magic Mail Monitor (free).
    http://mmm3.sourceforge.net/
    http://www.geeba.org/magic/

Copy/paste the following into notepad and save it as swen.txt
in the Magic Mail Monitor folder...

***** <--- Begin text file - OMIT THIS LINE
    <iframe src="cid
    <iframe src=3Dcid
    <iframe src=3D"cid
    TITLE=3D"Microsoft Home Site" target=3D"_top">Microsoft</A>
this is the latest version of security update
***** <--- End text file - OMIT THIS LINE

In File / Filters, create a new filter:

    Name: Swen
    Mailbox: *
    <Header> Includes '$Swen.txt'

    Actions:
    Check 'Delete from server'.

Don't bother. What will you do with 200 per day like a couple of weeks
ago ? Spend all day tracking down halfwits who opened an attachment to
    tell them thankyou ?

Just keep your AV stuff updated and let it do its stuff.
