do you have a local network set up, I get this on my 98se on every boot, i
just assumed that it was finding the network card but got no further as the
network was not active.or maybe it just does it for everybody, perhaps a few
more replies will shed some light on it for both of us.

Could be your database is corrupt.
    Go offline, shut down ZA.
Delete the *.db files in ZA's folder, and if I remember correctly, files in a
folder called Internet Logs which is in Windows folder.

    Reboot

I have a LAN set up and have used ZoneAlarm for a long time - just
    recently this started happening.
Also the ZoneAlarm True Vector monitor shuts down quite often
throughout the day but the option to restart it has worked thus far.

Delete those files in Internet Logs.
As it's been a while since I've used ZA, maybe you could list the files in the
ZA folders so I can tell you which you need to delete (if any).

I've checked the C:\WINNT\Internet Logs directory and cannot locate
any *.db files. All I have there are files with: txt, RDB, tmp, & ldb
    extensions
Where else could I try to locate the corrupt files?
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Don't delete them until you are ready to follow the steps I mentioned below.
