    What OS?

    A very good trojan can be made effectively invisible by modifying all
    operating system fuctions that would look for the trojan.

    Under Unix, fo example, one would modify `ps` and a number of other
    utility programs. Or, you could (theoretically) modify the kernel
    directly.

    However, this is difficult and most people are lazy.
