DVD reviews are 100% on-topic in both groups. Since he only posted to two,
he could have annoyingly posted the same message independently to both,
which would mean readers of both groups would see it twice, instead of
having it marked as "read" the first time.

I think accusing someone of crossposting an on-topic message to just two
    groups is hair-splitting.

He didn't post a DVD review to either group. It was the same old spam.

    I see you've confused cross-posting and multi-posting.

His spam was never on-topic. I think perhaps you should re-read article to
which you're following-up: The spammer can't even be bother to crosspost.

He *did* and always *does* post independently to all groups involved. He
has repeated ignored requests to simply crosspost, so people only see it
    once.

    > I think accusing someone of crossposting an on-topic message to just two

I am accusing him of *not* crossposting.

Thus confirming he is a spammer.

So killfile him and be done with it. You don't HAVE to read his
messages if you don't want to. Geez.

And if people reply to them, well, he puts the URL in EVERY message he
posts, so you can still easily ignore it.

Oh for Christ's sake, drop it. He's not going to do it, ok? Now that you
know that, you're foolish for continuing to speak as if you expect him to,
and you're taking up more bandwidth than he is with this drivel.

Without your sniping, these would be one and done posts. Killfile him and
    be done with it already.

I don't consider those particular posts spam. I don't read them,
either, but they certainly aren't SPAM. If you hate them as much as you
claim to, you would've killfiled the guy long ago.

Doesn't matter what you consider SPAM, they still are.

"Just delete the email, I don't see what the problem is. Nobody is
    forcing you to read it."

And yes, I know it's not an email, but that is the standard apologist
    comment on SPAM.

Sorry, when I saw that Justin's reply was crossposted to both groups I
assumed the original was also. I never saw the original, having plonked the
    guy long ago.

The alternative being that you're somehow going to stop him? rofl...just
killfile it! Then you'll never, ever have to think about it again. It's
not about being a "spam apologist" - it's just good old pragmatic common
    sense.

The difference between email and usenet is that with email, you've
already downloaded it; with usenet, you can see the headers and just
    ignore it.

There are tools like Mailwasher floating around, but that's another
story. Most email clients don't show headers first, whereas most news
    readers do.

I use K9, by the way, which is usually pretty accurate in detecting
    spam.

No, he won't. He's simply not going to do it. You've been bugging him (and
the rest of us) for weeks now - give it up. Killfile him, and your problem
with these posts will simply disappear. Isn't the amazing? Then, you can
stop replying to these posts and making these threads even longer and more
annoying. How's that for a high concept?

If he's a spammer, have you become a spammer by proxy? Anyway, killfile him
so we may all rest in peace.

If I was Writer R5, I wouldnt do it either. It gets old reading this crap.
At least he is posting something that has to do w/ dvd's. I, for one,
appreciate his links to his reviews...good or bad ( I have made some dvd
decisions based on a few of his reviews).

Basically, u are not going to win...whether u think him a spammer or no...he
is going to continue to post his links and ignore your request. As Mike
says, killfile him and be done w/ it.
