I have never submitted any photos to the groups but
was considering doing so. It sounded like fun and I
enjoyed reading the critiques by people much more
knowledgeable than I with respect to photographs.
However, with the inclusion of geotagging I am no
    longer considering submitting photos.
I purposely did not get a gps capable camera
due to security restrictions of many of my photos.

What is to keep you from submitting photos without geotags? He didn't
    say they were required.

    Cool!
Per you and Otter I see that I was mistaken and thought
    geotags were a requirement.
    Thanks!

That was my understanding as well, glad to see it is not compulsory.

If I may, for simplicity (read: I'm too lazy), I'd up them all to
Panoramio and let the shooter strip the location data if they so
    desire.

There's no requirement for location data and many (if not most) SI
photos won't meet the criteria for inclusion in Earth/Maps. I have
265 shots, only 185 made Earth.

    Thank you, Alan.
I misunderstood the original chat and appreciate the clarification.
