    Unless you have 8 IDE devices why not disable some?

    What are these IDE devices? considering that they havent been available
    for many years now, you aren't running a PC on stone age harddrives are you?

    Infact no current or last gen mobo has had more than one IDE port on
    them, so I suspect the whole machine is a dinosaur from the early P4 era.

    So install one that is right-sized to your requirements instead of being
    grossly overkill.

    Only when you are using them for 3d stuff heavily, when sitting on a
    desktop they are pretty tame.
