    Nothing, probably. Why do you assume Firefox is using your network
    connection nefariously? Use netstat to view network connections, and
    kill to terminate a process if you feel you must. Click up a terminal
    and type man to view more info about kill and netstat. If you're really
    paranoid install and run chkrootkit. It does what the name implies.

    Next time including the distribution and FF version may help.
