    Hi everyone..

Here's a quesiton for those with experience in setting up RAID on their pcs.

I recently decided to make use of the RAID controller on my mobo, a
    chaintech 7njs Zenith Ultra.

Since I already have two ide drives, there wasn't really a need for another.
However, my 11 year old is now developing a taste for pc games, and her pc
is not powerful enough to support the proc. and video requirements for most
    games.

I decided to add an 80 gb drive to my pc and have ot use the raid
controller. At first, it worked fine. Then, I began to experience random
5-10 second system freezes, which I discovered must be related to the RAID,
because when I unplug that drive, the system works just fine.

    Here's where it gets wierd...

In my pc, the second IDE drive also has winpx pro (Set up as a dual boot
because I do a lot of software testing for work. I have discovered that when
using that system to boot, the RAID drive works just fine, and there is no
    system slowdown or feezes.

The only difference is in the way the two versions of XP recognize the
drive, and both of them are fully updated, up to and including SP2 (Yes,
they are both LEGAL versions as well.)

The one I WANT to recognize the drive the right way keeps adding a A347scsi
scsi controller in scsi and raid controllers under Dev. Manager, when all it
should be adding in the WinXP promise FastTrack376 controller, which is how
my second XP os boot sees it. (The one that works.)

How do I get the main os to see things the same way the testing os does?

Really..any pointers would be deeply appreciated.

    Regards,

    Jay
