I have been reading up on the Microsoft site that they still offer the exams
for Windows 2000. Would it be easier for me to take those in order to get my
MCSA? Would it be frowned upon?

  2. Hi Canada Guy,

Yes, Microsoft still offers the Windows 2000 certification courses. If you
are more comfortable with that platform it might be an easier way to go, but
that really is the only advantage - familiarity.

To obtain your MCSA on Windows 2000 you need to pass a minimum of 4 exams -
    I went with 70-210, 70-215, 70-216, and 70-226. However when I started the
path, Windows 2000 was the newest technology. By passing those exams you
would become an MCSA on Windows 2000 - and anyone who checked would know
    that.

If you are just starting out on the path to certification then your best bet
is to start with Windows 2003. It is the most current, and most of your
clients will be working with that. It is also going to go a long way to
helping you with Windows Small Business Server 2003, which you mentioned in
an earlier post as an area of interest.

Good luck and let us know how you do!
