    Incorrect use of a semicolon (the most abused
    punctuation mark in Usenet). There needs to be
    independent clauses on both sides of the semicolon.
    A comma or hyphen should be used instead.
    -----------------------------------------------------------------
    Every lady in the land has twenty digits: On each
    hand, five -- and twenty on hands and feet.
    This is true -- without deceit.
